Pop-up dinner with Nana Wilmot

May 25, 2022

It’s been a goal for a while to work with chefs that specialize in under-represented cuisines. The goal being to help elevate unique dishes and showcase pairings outside of the Eurocentric framework. So we’re hosting Nana Wilmot from @lovethatiknead to help showcase new African cuisine, pairing wines with the flavors of West-Africa for a special pop-up dinner.

“Nana Wilmot an Auntie, sister, daughter, friend, professional Chef and owner of Georgina’s Private Chef and Catering Co. and Creator of Love That I Knead Supper Club. Nana started cooking at the age 7 with her grandmother, Georgina, which later turned into her love cooking for others. After studying culinary arts and management at The Art Institute of Philadelphia in 2013, Nana went on to work for Wolfgang Puck catering and Chef Jose Garces restaurants to name a few. After moving to New York as opening crew for Garces’ new New York location in 2016, Nana worked at Le CouCou, a Steven Starr restaurant/Chef Daniel Rose collaboration. She then moved on to Le Mercerie where she worked with Chef Marie Rose and picked up bartending at YN wine bar in NoLita. Following the success of these experiences, Nana was on her way to Paris to work at La Bourse et La Vie by Daniel Rose when Covid hit. Pushed to pivot, Nana relocated back home to the Cherry Hill/Philadelphia area where she has started the Love That I Knead Supper Club - an intimate, West African-focused dinner series that celebrates Black history and Food Ways across the diaspora. Through Love that I Knead, Nana continues to explore her identity on a plate using a fine dining lens and helping others who are also looking to “Find their way back.”
